Work · SEO, local and AI search

The work,
with the receipts.

Four pieces of real work, each with the method, the deliverable and a sample you can read. Where a business is involved it is anonymized, and every figure comes from saved evidence.

  1. Audit · SEO, Maps and AI answers

A full local search audit for an HVAC contractor

An eight-page audit of an established Central Oregon HVAC contractor, run on public data. It found the business strong in AI answers that read websites and weak on Google Maps a few miles from its shop, and turned that into ten fixes ranked by impact.

    Method
33 Maps searches on a grid, 7 Google searches, 37 AI answers across four engines, a full site crawl, Lighthouse tests, 16 directories.
    Deliverable
Eight-page PDF: ranked fixes with effort and owner, 90-day plan, month-3 baseline.

  2. AEO / GEO · Method

    Measuring visibility in AI answers

A repeatable way to answer “does ChatGPT recommend us?” engine by engine, with repeated runs and the sources each engine read. In the HVAC audit it showed why the fixes belonged on the Business Profile and directories, not the blog.

    Method
Fixed customer questions, each engine counted separately, 3 runs per question, clean sessions, citations recorded with sources.
    Deliverable
Question-by-engine table, sources per engine, fix list, dated baseline. Also runs nightly as a Python job.

  3. Local SEO · Listings and Business Profile

Listings, citations and Google Business Profile work

A citation and profile audit across 16 directories and 10 “best of” lists, and a market scan of Bend trade businesses that graded 541 websites and found 23 busy Google listings with no website at all.

    Method
Directory and NAP checks, Business Profile review, Maps discovery, a Python site checker and headless-Chrome verification.
    Deliverable
Citation findings with the specific fix for each gap; a ranked shortlist from the market scan.

  4. Technical SEO · This website

Repositioning a website without losing its search history

This site switched from an AI receptionist product to a search studio. The move was handled with a topic-mapped redirect plan, a content prune, sitemap and schema fixes, Lighthouse work, and a test suite that fails any release that breaks them.

    Method
Redirect mapping, 410s, noindex pruning, canonical host, structured data, llms.txt, Lighthouse and accessibility checks.
    Deliverable
A live site you can inspect, guarded by about 3,000 automated tests.
